I'm alive!

Hola, strangers!

Contrary to popular belief, I am still alive and kicking here in España. I wanted to give everyone an update on what is going on with me on this side of the world. First of all, for those of you who may have seen on Facebook and were wondering what is going on, I am in a relationship--NOT with a Spaniard, so breathe easy--but with a fellow Texan and Aggie, who I met when I was at Texas A&M and who is now here in Salamanca, Spain.

In fact, thanks to Patrick I had a wonderful Thanksgiving. The day before Thanksgiving I was feeling a little sad and missing my family, but on Thanksgiving, after I got off work, Patrick and I hunted down some turkey breasts and ended up having a very delicious and traditional Thanksgiving meal here in Spain, complete with turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and broccoli.

Another thing I'd like to share with everyone is pictures from a trip I took last week with two friends I have met here, Hanna and Cara. We went to Valladolid, León, and Burgos--all cities in Castilla y Leon, which is where I am currently residing. All of the cities were BEAUTIFUL. Take a look:

 LEÓN, obviously:

Aaaand I found a little bit of Texas in León :)

BURGOS:

Of all the cities we visited last weekend, Burgos was definitely my favorite. It is the oldest city in Europe, and the night we arrived, we visited the oldest functioning bar in Burgos. It is such a beautiful city, as you can see, with so, so much to do. Also during my trip I tried morcilla for the first time. For those of you who may not know what that is, it is blood sausage. Yeah, nasty. I tried a bite and after seeing the blood oozing onto the piece of bread on which I was eating it, I had to throw in the towel. It honestly didn't taste too bad, but just knowing that I was consuming pig's blood was a bit too much for me.

In other news, my parents are coming to visit me in 2 weeks!! I couldn't be more excited to see them :) As side note,  the big elephant in the room is the fact that I have been slacking big time on updating this blog. I have recently taken up crocheting (yes, how old-lady of me, I know). My friend Cara taught me how to crochet about a month ago and since then I have been doing not much else other than crocheting up a storm of scarves for myself, Patrick, and for both parents who are coming to visit me during a very cold time of the year here in Spain. So, excuses out of the way, I will try to update my blog more often (as usual), but I will most definitely update everyone on my parents' visit, which should be a blast.

I love and miss everyone!

XOXOXO
